Smith Field Historic Photos

Smith Field is Fort Wayne's first municipal airport and is one of America's oldest surviving aviation sites. It was commissioned in 1925 as Paul Baer Municipal Airport and was later renamed in honor of Arthur "Art" Smith, a Fort Wayne native and aviation pioneer. It has been the home of EAA Chapter 2 since the chapter was chartered in 1956. These photos are on display in the Smith Field terminal building.
